Spring Meeting @ Rye Golf Club 2023

20 members of the OCGS enjoyed a spectacular day at Rye GC on Tuesday 18th April 2023.

Although a relatively chilly day, the sun was out and after a tradition Rye bacon roll (arguable the best on the circuit) – the boys hit the links and it was a treat to catch the course again in such good condition.

We did pick up a few injuries over lunch (all morning golf related!) – and so we were a little lighter in the afternoon. It was therefore a more relaxed affair with various matches across various loops of the fantastic Old Course.

Congratulations to Ross McInley (OC) and Ali Bownas (OC) for taking the spoils as Spring Meeting winners with a very creditable 32 points. They were the clear winners ahead of second place Patrick May (OC) and Sean Tanner (OC), who amassed a very solid 28 points.

Special note to Mike Limpenny for clattering into the Board Room window from 200 yards down the 18th fairway! FORE!!!!!
