Autumn Meeting 2018 at Hindhead
On the 24th October we held our inaugural Autumn Meeting at the fantastic Hindhead Golf Club in Surrey. Ranked number 33 in England, we were treated to a day of fine weather and a course that was in superb condition.
9 members of the Society attended the meeting and we were looked after perfectly by the staff at Hindhead. After bacon rolls, we head out on the wonderful heathland for our stableford competition where we played in teams in 3. After the first couple of holes, the sun came out and it was shirt sleeve order for the rest of the day.
Congratulations to Richard Fuller for taking the spoils with a fantastic 38 points. He picked himself up a very snazzy Old Caterhamians’ blazer.
To make the day even better, legendary BBC golf commentator Peter Alliss was in attendance and kindly agreed to join us for a photo in the bar named after him at Hindhead – the Alliss Bar.
We look forward to returning next year with a bigger and better field. Many thanks to the members of the society that supported the event – it has certainly been an encouraging start to life in the Old Caterhamians’ Golfing Society.
Next up, our Winter Meeting at Walton Heath Golf Club on the 9th November. There are still places available, so please click here to sign up.
